Social enterprise partners & artisan groups

Throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East, MADE51 links refugee artisans in hosting countries with local social enterprises that work in the artisanal sector. MADE51 social enterprise partners are selected based on their proven experience in design, production management, export and marketing. In partnership with the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), MADE51 sets the ethical compliance standards that social enterprise partners must meet in their work with refugees.

Together, these local social enterprise partners form a global network that collaborates to drive forward economic inclusion of refugees in the handmade sector through MADE51.

.

It’s local people and communities that are on the frontlines when refugees arrive, and whose welcome makes the difference – the difference between rejection and inclusion; between despair and hope; between being left behind and building a future.

- Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees
