Koel, a social enterprise based in Karachi, Pakistan, was established in 1977 to promote the revival of hand block-printing. Its collections include fabrics hand-woven with yarn and dyed using natural dyes extracted from leaves, flowers, roots and bark. Koel offers a diverse range of products including apparel, textiles and home accessories.

Koel collaborates closely with a group of Afghan Refugee women to create scarves, bags and cushions from hand-woven fabrics using their traditional embroidery techniques.

Refugee Artisan Group

A group of 10 Afghan refugee women in Pakistan collaborate with Koel. These artisans create both block-printed and embroidered home decor items using handwoven linen materials.
