Roots of South Sudan is a social enterprise based in Juba, South Sudan working with internally displaced South Sudanese women and Ethiopian refugees. Roots strives to empower South Sudanese women and youth through the preservation of traditional crafts. Women working with Roots create beautiful beadwork used as jewellery, accessories and home decor. In addition to artisanal work, Roots offers learning materials to improve artisans' job skills, literacy and numeracy.

Refugee Artisan Group

Ethiopian refugees and internally displaced South Sudanese collaborate with Roots. Currently, there are 67 artisans engaged, of which 84% are women. The groups are based in Juba and Gorom Refugee Camp.
